Tell us what you have and how to reach you. We call you back to talk it over and, if needed, ask you for photos of both sides.

What we look at

  • The metal and its weight for gold and silver coins: this is the basis of their value.
  • The year and the mint: some dates, struck in small numbers, are worth far more than the metal.
  • The condition, from “well preserved” to “uncirculated”: a worn or cleaned coin loses its premium.
  • Authenticity: examination under a loupe, weight, diameter, magnet test or touchstone test.

Frequently asked questions

Can a coin be valued from a photo?

A sharp photo of both sides often makes it possible to identify the coin and give a first range. The final price is set in the shop, once the coin has been weighed and examined: condition and authenticity cannot be fully judged at a distance.

How long does a valuation take?

A few minutes for a few common gold or silver coins. For an album or a collection of several hundred coins, it is best to call us first so that we can set aside the time needed.

Will I receive a written valuation?

Yes, if you wish, we give you a written valuation for guidance only, useful for example when an estate is shared between heirs.

Do you also value banknotes and medals?

Yes: banknotes, medals, tokens and ancient coins are examined in the same way as coins.
